Harper Collins   

President of sales Ed Spade “has decided to leave to pursue the next chapter in his publishing and sales career,” departing on August 15. He joined the company in 2021 when Harper acquired HMH Books and Media, where Spade was interim president. SVP, sales and marketing, Harper Christian Doug Lockhart will oversee the sales Department on an interim basis while the company looks for a successor.

Harper CEO Brian Murray writes of Spade: “His strategic vision and warm leadership helped reshape our approach to sales, strengthened key account partnerships, and built data-led collaboration across teams. Ed has deepened our expertise in the online marketplace, opened new channels in Special Markets, and realized efficiencies in our processes. Ed’s passion for publishing and books—and his commitment to empowering teams—have made a lasting impact.”

Mark Tavani has been named vice president, business strategy. He will “work on strategic planning, focusing on growth and new revenue possibilities,” in addition to representing clients.

Spotify   

According to the company’s second quarter earnings, premium audiobook listening in the US, UK, and Australia has grown more than 35 percent since 2023.
