President of sales Ed Spade “has decided to leave to pursue the next chapter in his publishing and sales career,” departing on August 15. He joined the company in 2021 when Harper acquired HMH Books and Media, where Spade was interim president. SVP, sales and marketing, Harper Christian Doug Lockhart will oversee the sales Department on an interim basis while the company looks for a successor.
