Jeff McLaughlin is appointed to the newly created role of svp, business development, starting August 10 and reporting to president and ceo Mary McAveney.

“In this role, McLaughlin will lead the strategic expansion of Abrams’ Customer Proprietary Solutions business, developing customized books, proprietary content, gift products, stationery, journals, and other consumer products for retailers, brands, corporations, cultural institutions, entertainment companies, and strategic partners,” a release states.

McLaughlin was previously svp, group publisher at Insight Editions.

Julie Coryell has been promoted to senior publicist.

Liza Buell has joined as publicist. She was previously at Celadon, Atria, and New York Road Runners.

Kianna Ortiz has been promoted to associate Ppblicist.

Saige Gipson has joined as associate, multimedia content.

Barbara Pizzella has joined as associate, backlist and trends.

Rhoda Belleza has joined as senior editor, original development.

Milo Michels will become author events manager, succeeding Spencer Ruchti.
