Little, Brown vp, associate publisher and executive director of publicity Nicole Dewey is leaving at the end of April, to become managing director at Shreve Williams Public Relations as of May 1. Sabrina Callahan has been promoted to executive director of publicity at Little, Brown, effective immediately.

Tiffany Liao has joined Holt Children’s as editor. She was previously editor at Razorbill.

In the UK, Trevor Dolby will retire from Penguin Random House UK in the fall, after transitioning to part-time work at beginning of May. Dolby joined Random House UK in 2007 to create Preface.

Also in the UK, Ian Stewart has been found guilty of murdering the late author Helen Bailey.

Imprints
Amazon Publishing has launched their second imprint publishing German-language originals, Tinte & Feder (Ink & Pen), focusing on contemporary and historical fiction. Lena Woitkowiak is quoted in the release as editor of the new line.

Awards
PEN America announced award winners in several categories, among them Matthew Desmond‘s Evicted for their nonfiction prize and Luke Dittrich‘s Patient H.M. taking the literary science writing award. More winners, including the PEN/Bingham Prize for Debut Fiction and the PEN/Nabokov Award, will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 27.

Bookselling
Schoenhof’s Foreign Books in Cambridge, MA — which calls itself the country’s “oldest and largest foreign language-only bookstore” — will close their physical store on March 25 after 161 years in business. General director Daniel Eastman said in a release that they were being “driven out of the [Harvard] Square by the high rents,” and will invest the savings in rent on building out “an amazing website.”
