Abrams has announced more details about their new nonfiction imprint under Jamison Stoltz, which will launch in May, called Abrams Press. The inaugural release will be Michael Ruhlman’s Grocery: The Buying and Selling of Food in America, a look at food issues through the lens of the supermarket, due out May 16. Other forthcoming titles in fall 2017 include Paul Sahre’s illustrated memoir Two-Dimensional Man; Breaking Bad 101 by television critic Alan Sepinwall; and knitting essay anthology A Stash of One’s Own edited by Clara Parkes. In addition to already announced acquisitions, Spring 2018 features a collection of personal essays by refugee writers edited by Pulitzer Prize winner Viet Thanh Nguyen, and the collective memoir A Grand Success! by Peter Lord, David Sproxton, and Nick Park.

Lauren Hoffman joins Simon & Schuster Children’s on March 27 as vp, marketing and publicity. Previously, she was vice president of brand marketing at MK Creative/Media/Marketing, and oversaw the brand management of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters publishing program for S&S as a freelancer. Nicole Russo has returned to the division as senior director of publicity after four years at Abrams, where she was director of publicity and marketing.

Janice Echevarria has joined Chronicle as junior designer, marketing communications.  Previously, she was a motion graphics intern at Digitalcore productions and a production assistant at Cash Studios.

Doug Wallace has joined Andrew Nurnberg Associates as CEO of Russia. Previously, he was creative director of the British Council’s U.K.-Russian Year of Language and Literature 2016, and launched a trade imprint of translated fiction at the American University of Cairo Press. He will divide his time between London and Moscow. Anna Vasilyeva has joined as agent. She was foreign rights assistant intern at Harper UK.

Author of more than 30 books Amy Krouse Rosenthal, 51, died Monday of ovarian cancer. Earlier in the month the NYT Style section published her essay, “You May Want to Marry My Husband.”

Among the postponements in advance of Tuesday’s East Coast blizzard is the planned announcement of the winning author and book for the new One Book, One New York initiative. The announcement, and kick-off event at the Brooklyn Public Library, were postponed until Thursday.
