AMC Networks is launching a book publishing arm, AMC Networks Publishing, that “will work with established and up-and-coming talent in developing, producing and selling fan-focused specialty books, comics, original graphic novels and more.” First projects include books based on AMC series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Creepshow, as well as two comic series: Nights of Lono by Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett and Marcel Feldmar, and Oubliette by Brenden Fletcher. Brandon Sanderson’s Kickstarter Campaign Makes $15 Million in One Day
Bestselling fantasy author Brandon Sanderson launched a Kickstarter campaign to publish four new novels through his company Dragonsteel Entertainment. The crowdfunding campaign launched yesterday has already made more than $15 million from nearly 60,000 backers. (The most successful campaign in Kickstarter’s history, for smartwatches, made $20.3 million in 2016.) The as-yet-untitled books will release quarterly, starting in January 2023.
