Scribner will publish two-time National Book Award winner Jesmyn Ward’s next novel, LET US DESCEND, on October 3. In an announcement, the publisher described the book as, “the astonishing story of Annis, an enslaved teenage girl who is sold by her white father after being separated from her mother.
