Forthcoming: DREAM COUNT by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

On March 4, Knopf will publish a new novel by Americanah author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. DREAM COUNT is “the story of four women and their loves, longings, and desires,” according to a release, and it will have a first printing of 250,000. Rights were sold by Sarah Chalfant at The Wylie Agency. The book will publish simultaneously by Fourth Estate in the UK and Knopf in Canada. Rights have also been sold in 13 other territories.

Imprints: Fablelistik Editions

On October 1, Macmillan launched Fablelistik Editions, a new brand that publishes “finely crafted, limited edition, and fine press books.” According to a release, “In collaboration with renowned authors and artisans, Fablelistik creates bespoke renditions of contemporary and classic stories.” Their first releases are three different illustrated editions of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and they plan to publish at least seven titles in 2025. “In launching Fablelistik Editions, we embrace Macmillan’s belief in the power and lasting impact of books,” said Macmillan ceo Jon Yaged. “Books have the unmatched ability to captivate and inspire, standing the test […]

Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Byam Shaw, ceo and chairman of Macmillan for 30 years, died on September 25. He joined Macmillan in 1964 as an international sales executive, and his work eventually spanned divisions including Pan Macmillan, Macmillan Publishers US, Macmillan Education, Macmillan Learning and Nature.
