WH Smith Explores Sale of Bookstores
UK retailer WH Smith is looking to sell their High Street business–that is, their trade bookstores–as it focuses on its more profitable airport stores. “WH Smith confirms that it is exploring potential strategic options for this profitable and cash generative part of the group, including a possible sale,” the company said in a statement. “Over the past decade, WH Smith has become a focused global travel retailer. German Publisher Hanser Will Release English-Language Version of TC Boyle’s Next Book
German publisher Hanser will publish an English language version of TC Boyle‘s next book, NO WAY HOME in an exclusive European edition, in addition to a German translation. Boyle has a large following in Germany, where his previous book Blue Skies (2023) sold 120,000 copies in German, and another 25,000 copies in English. Harper Collins will publish VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS: Over Seven Decades of Struggle with China for My Land and My People, a memoir by the Dalai Lama on March 11.
