Copyright Office Director Denied Temporary Reinstatement As Lawsuit Continues

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has denied former copyright office director Shira Perlmutter’s request for a preliminary injunction that would have reinstated her to her position while her lawsuit over her firing continues. Perlmutter filed suit against the Trump administration, claiming that the president doesn’t have the authority to remove her position, since it’s part of the Legislative Branch. In May, Judge Timothy J. Kelly denied Perlmutter’s request for a temporary restraining order that would have blocked her firing. Severe Delays Disrupt UK Distribution

Booksellers in the UK have reported “huge delays,” inconsistent service, and titles on backorder this summer, caused by disruptions at Harper UK’s new warehouse and PRH UK’s The Book Service (TBS). The Harper warehouse opened on June 9 in Robroyston, Scotland. The Bookseller reports that “the problems at Robroyston arose due to system issues, which affected the dispatch rates,” and new systems have since been implemented, improving the situation.
