After an internal investigation delayed the announcement of their year-end results, Barnes & Noble Education gave a preliminary report of estimated sales for their fiscal year 2025, which ended May 3, and the first half of fiscal year 2026, which ended November 1. They also recalculated financial information from fiscal 2024. New CEO Joins Powell’s
Powell’s Books in Portland has hired David Maquera as ceo, taking over from Patrick Bassett who stepped down in September after 5 years with the bookseller, the Portland Business Journal reports. Powell’s declined to comment to the outlet on the leadership transition. Oddly, according to union representative for ILWU Local 5 Myka Dubay, Maquera joined the bookseller back in September. Barnes & Noble Partners With A24 On Branded Stores
Barnes & Noble is partnering with A24 to bring “the A24 Shop Experience” to nine B&N locations this week, “with more locations” to be added next year. Participating stores are located in LA, New York, Seattle, Orlando, inside Minnesota’s Mall of America, and more.
