David Marcus has been named literary editor at The Nation, overseeing books and arts coverage, succeeding John Palatella, who will become an editor at large. Marcus was previously co-editor at Dissent.
Nebraska Book Holdings named Rick Bunka as their new president and ceo, following the closing of an exchange offer relating to their 15 percent senior secured notes. Bunka has been working as a consultant for the company, and takes over from interim head Ben Riggsby, who will stay on the board.
Amy Kosar has joined Chronicle Books as distribution client account manager. Most recently, Kosar worked at Photojojo as general manager.
Andrea Colvin has left Andrews McMeel Universal, where she was vp of content for the book division, and is now senior editor at Lion Forge’s Roar Comics.

Imprints
Kensington will launch a digital science fiction and fantasy imprint Rebel Base Books in the fall of 2017, starting with Barb Hendee’s Through a Dark Glass. The line is targeting space travel and traditional “soft” science fiction thrillers; alternate worlds and histories; and classic epic fantasy.

Abrams is hailing the release on September 6 of Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty and David Roberts — creators of Rosie Revere, Engineer and Iggy Peck, Architect— as “the fastest selling picture book release of the year.” After an announced first printing of 250,000 copies, the publisher says it has already reprinted an additional 100,000 copies.
