Film/TV
Sourcebooks is working with The Gotham Group as its exclusive representative for film and TV rights. They will also work directly with Gotham to “develop, publish, and produce original content across multimedia platforms.” Little, Brown Children’s also works with Gotham to “conceive, develop, publish, and produce content across a wide array of traditional and evolving entertainment media.” (And in 2008, Simon & Schuster Children’s had tried something similar as well.)
Forthcoming
Garth Brooks will tell the story of his career in five books, announcing that the first volume —The Anthology Part 1: The First Five Years, will release on November 15. It’s a 240-page illustrated hardcover, listing for $39.98, that seems to be self-published or produced with his record company, since there are no online listings for pre-orders to accompany the announcement. (As of last year he releases his music through his own company, Pearl Records.) The book comes with 5 CDs, “including 19 new, unreleased or demo versions.” comprising “outtakes, first takes, demos and masters.”
