Legal
Alex Malarkey, the subject of the 2010 bestseller The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven, has refiled his legal case against Christian publisher Tyndale in DuPage County, IL. Malarkey initially filed suit against the publisher in April 2018, claiming seven charges including defamation, appropriation of his likeness, exploitation of a person with a disability, and more, but a circuit court judge dismissed five of the seven counts. The three new counts include appropriation, publicity given to private life, and financial exploitation of a person with a disability. The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven was pulled from shelves in 2015, after it was determined that Malarkey’s father fabricated the story.
