The June vote among Duke University Press employees on forming a union resulted in 35 votes in favor and 31 against, with 8 challenged ballots still to be adjudicated. Duke University and the management of the press have petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to invalidate the vote to unionize and convene a new election at an unspecified later date. Longtime editor acquiring for both Pantheon and Knopf since 1990, Erroll McDonald will now work exclusively as vp, executive editor at Knopf, reporting to Reagan Arthur. At Workman, SarahMay Harel has been promoted to assistant director, website operations. Mike Moglia joins as coordinator, digital operations. He was previously with the academic trade division at Oxford University Press. At Amazon, Hai-Yen Mura has been named publisher and head of marketing. Julia Sommerfeld becomes publisher.
