For the second year in a row, Amazon has honored RH Publisher Services, the company’s third-party distribution service, “for its exemplary work in helping Amazon.com build a world-class customer experience through operational excellence.” The selection criteria listed include “short and consistent receive lead times to make tens of thousands of books available to ship within 24 hours; increasing the percentage of books available in digital format to Amazon Kindle customers; leveraging print-on-demand technology; and providing high-quality and authoritative ONIX data.”Release

Loveland, CO-based Interweave Press will move their sales and distribution for the US and Canada from IPG to Perseus Distribution as of July 1. Perseus will also handle distribution only to the world market excluding UK, Australia and Europe. Interweave, will publishes about 45 new titles a year, will continue to distribute themselves directly to the craft store market. Dan Angus started today as Borders new vp, customer loyalty, reporting to svp of marketing Bill Dandy. Angus is in charge of loyalty marketing programs and initiatives, “including directing the development of customer relationship marketing strategies as well as enhancing and growing the Borders Rewards loyalty program. Most recently, he was vp, customer relationship marketing for Guitar Center. Baker & Taylor Buys Blackwell NA; Sells UK Branch

Baker & Taylor announced yesterday they are buying Blackwell Book Services North America to integrate with YBP and Australia-based James Bennett bookseller (also owned by Blackwell). In turn, they are selling their UK unit Lindsay and Croft to Blackwell UK. Also, “Baker & Taylor’s YBP Library Services and Blackwell U.K. have entered into a strategic sourcing agreement under which YBP Library Services will source all U.K.-published academic material from Blackwell U.K., and Blackwell U.K. will source all U.S.-published academic material from YBP Library Services.”Release
