Maria Guarnaschelli, 79, “the editor behind the most highly acclaimed and successful cookbooks of our time, including the monumental 1997 revision of The Joy of Cooking and the new classic The Food Lab,” died February 6 of complications of heart disease. During her four-decade book publishing career, most recently at Norton from 2000 to 2017, she introduced and edited books by culinary visionaries including J. Bloomsbury continues to reorganize its executive ranks, following the hiring of Ian Hudson as managing director of the consumer publishing division earlier this year and the departure of Emma Hopkin at the end of 2020. In a restructuring of the consumer division at Bloomsbury USA, publishing director Cindy Loh and two others will leave at the end of February. Loh has overseen both adult and children’s publishing since late 2016.
