Emily Canders has been promoted to publicity manager at Dutton. In the Netherlands, Melle van Loenen will join Nieuw Amsterdam as commissioning editor in the nonfiction department starting February 1. Most recently he worked as an editor at Cossee Publishers. Longtime USA Today books editor Jocelyn McClurg announced on Twitter that she has left the newspaper. The new books contact is Sarah Day Owen, who joined the company in September as interim lifestyle editor.
