The new lifestyle imprint in the William Morrow Group that HarperCollins said they were creating when they organized the acquired HMH lines last September has been named Harvest. It will “publish books in the food, health, and wellness spaces that will make life just a little bit better for readers,” under vp and editorial director Deb Brody, with senior marketing director Andrea DeWerd and senior publicity director Anwesha Basu. Simon & Schuster Children’s has launched Boynton Bookworks, an imprint that will house all of Sandra Boynton’s backlist and frontlist titles. Boynton’s S&S books will move over from the Little Simon list, and the company has acquired her Workman titles. Boynton Bookworks’ first list will publish in Fall 2022 with two new board books, a re-illustrated picture book edition of Hippos Go Berserk!, and much of Boynton’s backlist (additional backlist titles will be re-released in future seasons). Sterling Publishing Relaunches As Union Square & Co.
Sterling Publishing will rebrand its core titles and expand its publishing program, under the new name of Union Square & Co., as promised when Barnes & Noble hired Emily Meehan as the division’s chief creative officer and publisher a year ago. Imprints: Zando Adds John Legend’s Get Lifted Books
Get Lifted Film Co., led by John Legend, Mike Jackson, and Ty Stiklorius, will partner with Zando to create an imprint that “will leverage their significant reach to identify, develop, and promote new voices and storytellers.” Get Lifted Books joins Hillman Grad Books, helmed by Lena Waithe, and Gillian Flynn Books, as the publisher’s third collaborative imprint led by an influential figure. Imprints: Heligo Books
Bonnier Books UK has launched Heligo Books, “an original and inclusive publisher of business books.” Rik Ubhi will lead the imprint as editorial director, with the first list publishing in 2022 and titles already acquired from Jewel Burks Solomon, Rupal Patel, and Simon Lancaster. A release said, “The imprint will publish a broad range of content from blue-chip business royalty to Gen Z entrepreneurs aimed at curious readers, business leaders and everyone inbetween – targeting audiences and age groups typically underserved by the genre.”
Knopf Cooks Launches
Effective immediately, Knopf is launching “an expansion of [their] publishing program” with Knopf Cooks, led by Lexy Bloom, who serves as editorial director. (Bloom already works with the Julia Child Foundation to manage Child’s backlist.) The line will have a dedicated editorial, publicity, and marketing team. Tom Pold has been promoted to senior editor, reporting to Bloom. Sara Eagle is promoted to associate director of marketing. Senior publicist Sarah New will continue to work on the cookbooks, as well as titles for Knopf and Pantheon.
