Entertainment company New Regency has partnered with Insight Editions on a new division that will produce book tie-ins to New Regency’s film and TV properties. Harper Children’s and Clarion Books have launched Allida Books, led by Newbery Medal-winning author Linda Sue Park and Clarion vp, editorial director Anne Hoppe. Zando is launching an imprint with progressive media company Crooked Media called Crooked Media Reads. Crooked Media was founded by former Obama administration officials Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor. Imprints: Post Hill Press Launches Twin Flame
Post Hill Press is launching Twin Flame, a new nonfiction imprint focused on “spirituality, tantra, relationships, and sexuality for worldwide distribution.” Elena Vega will lead as editorial director. Vega was previously an editor at Macmillan and Simon & Schuster, as well as a freelance editor for Post Hill Press. The imprint plans to publish “two dozen books per year.”
Knopf Canada Launches Alchemy; Soft Skull Partners With Kimbilio
Knopf Canada has launched Alchemy, a new publishing program led by poet and novelist Dionne Brand. Brand will work with publishing director Lynn Henry and publisher Martha Kanya-Forstner to publish two-to-three fiction and nonfiction titles per year. Elsewhere, Soft Skull Press will partner with fiction writing community Kimbilio, “acquiring up to two books a year from Kimbilio fellows and faculty members” over the next three years, with the first title publishing in late 2023.
