Wiley president and CEO Mark Allin has resigned, effective immediately, “for family reasons.” Chairman of the board Matthew Kissner will serve as interim ceo while the company searches for a successor. He says in the announcement, “We understand and support [Allin’s] decision to step down for family reasons and are grateful for his many accomplishments. George Coe “retired” from Follett on May 1, after being promoted to chief operating officer on March 31. The departure was announced internally at least two weeks ago according to anonymous message board postings. Separately, in March two Follett assistant store managers filed suit in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the company, seeking class action status, alleging they regularly worked extra hours without being paid overtime.
