Seven years after setting up an enonymous imprint at Putnam, Amy Einhorn is leaving the company at the end of June for another publisher. Her departure was confirmed for us by both Einhorn and Putnam president Ivan Held, to whom she has reported. Amy Einhorn Books started publishing in February 2009 in the most successful way possible — with publication of Kathryn Stockett’s The Help. The line went on to publish bestsellers including Jenny Lawson’s Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, Sarah Blake’s The Postmistress, and Liane Moriarty’s The Husband’s Secret. Perkins Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Field of Fiction to literary agent Nicole Aragi at their December 9 benefit and awards dinner. Longtime HarperCollins executive editor Tim Duggan will move to Crown on June 9 where he will serve as publisher of his own Tim Duggan Books imprint. He will publish 8 to 10 titles a year, “evenly split between nonfiction and fiction,” reporting to Molly Stern. Megan Lynch will join Ecco as editorial director on May 28, reporting to Daniel Halpern, who says “I can’t imagine anyone more suited to taking over the fiction reins at Ecco.” Ryan Willard will report to Lynch, and Hillary Redmon will continue to report to Halpern. Lynch is currently senior editor at Riverhead, where she spent the previous 11 years. Penguin Random House has created a companywide Consumer Marketing Development and Operations group.
