Canadian book distributor Book Depot acquired Knoxville, TN-based American Book Company, in a deal that closed December 3. Gary Vaynerchuk’s finance self-help book Twelve and a Half, published by Harper Business on November 30, sold a reported 455,000 hardcovers in the US in its first week in outlets tracked by NPD Bookscan, bolstered by an unusual bulk-ordering NFT pre-sale campaign — but the book does not appear on the New York Times or NPD Bookscan bestseller lists. Chris Cuomo’s Forthcoming Book Removed From Amazon
CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s untitled book, which was set to be published by Custom House in fall 2022, has been removed from Amazon, now showing up there only as an ebook and audiobook. The hardcover ISBN [9780062887719] does still display on other major online booksellers, however, and HarperCollins has an old version of the audio listing on their website. Saunders Launches Newsletter With Substack
George Saunders has launched a Substack called Story Club, centered on writing and analyzing short stories. Saunders will aim to send two posts a week, “one on the lighter side, more in the vein of a classic newsletter – what I’m doing/reading/thinking” and “another more substantial one” discussing stories.
