Former Penguin Random House US CEO Madeline McIntosh and her partners officially announced the new publishing company they have working on in stealth mode for some time. Called Authors Equity, it is founded along with former Macmillan CEO Don Weisberg (who serves as senior advisor) and former PRH president of strategic development Nina von Moltke (who is president). Binc Names First Incubator Cohort
The Book Industry Charitable Foundation has selected its first cohort to participate in its BincTank incubator pilot program, which supports current or planned BIPOC-owned retail bookselling businesses within communities. Pam French, executive director of BINC, said in a released, “We are so proud to support this first group of entrepreneurs dedicated to opening bookstores in their community.
