Will New York Read? One of the mysteries we looked at in Convention Lunch was whatever became of the New York Reads program. Before the whining and complaining set in, the initial plan had been to announce the official selection during BEA. Everyone we spoke to points to Reed as the driving force behind the program, but the BEA spokesperson has had no comment or information for us. Today though, buried in an article in the New York Daily News, is an indication of progress — the paper says “organizers have finally settled on James McBride’s THE COLOR OF WATER.” […]
