Bookshop.org Launches Ebooks in the UK
Bookshop.org has launched their ebook platform in the UK on Apple and Android. The platform launches with over a million ebooks, “including works from major publishers,” and allows readers to “share their favorite book moments on social media.” Independent bookstores will keep 100% of the profits of the ebooks they sell. Harris Memoir Sells 350,000 Copies in First Week
Kamala Harris’s memoir 107 DAYS sold 350,000 copies across all formats in the US during its first week on sale, Simon & Schuster announced in a release. “In addition to being one of the most interesting books ever written about the experience of running for President of the United States, the success of 107 DAYS proves what a galvanizing and inspiring cultural figure Kamala Harris is,” S&S ceo Jonathan Karp said in a release. “The only memoirs that have had a better first week of sales since 2023 were by Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, and Prince Harry.” The publisher has […]
Harper Collins Acquires Crunchyroll’s Manga Business in France and Germany
Harper Collins has closed their acquisition of the manga publishing operations of global anime brand Crunchyroll in France and Germany. Hideki Iyama-Desseigne will lead the team, reporting to Chantal Restivo-Alessi, ceo of international foreign language publishing. Day-to-day operations will be supported by Harper France and Germany. Brian Murray, president and ceo, HarperCollins said, “We are pleased to formally welcome the Crunchyroll publishing teams and authors to HarperCollins. The addition of these manga businesses, with a loyal audience, will help us to quickly expand our manga portfolio in Europe and beyond.”
