Obama Campaign Digital Director to Address Publishers
The digital director of President Obama’s re-election campaign Teddy Goff, whose highly-successful social media and digital marketing strategies were credited as an important part of the president’s victory in November, is the latest high-profile speaker to join the roster at January’s big Digital Book World conference. At William Morrow/Avon, Tessa Woodward has been promoted to editor. Anne Hoppe will join Clarion Books as senior executive editor on January 23. Previously she was executive editor at Harper Children’s. Esi Sogah will join Kensington as senior editor on January 2. She was most recently associate editor at Avon. Midpoint will take over distribution in the US for gift, reference and cookbook publisher New Holland UK. They were previously distributed by Sterling. (Midpoint already distributes New Holland Australia.)
Imprints: Amazon Adds Inspirational Line, and More
The latest Amazon publishing imprint, Grand Harbor Press, comes from the company’s Brilliance Audio division. The new line aims to “present uplifting and thought-provoking works embracing a range of philosophies and spiritual thought.” The company sees it as a natural complement to their core audio business: “motivational speakers in the inspirational category are a natural fit for the audio format,” says president and publisher Mark Pereira. “Fans and followers want to hear their favorite author guide them during their self-improvement experience.” Also, Brilliance already distributes print editions of the Amazon Publishing genre imprints.
