Macmillan Children’s UK announced the creation of two audience-focused publishing divisions, Macmillan Under 6s, to be overseen by publisher Stephanie Barton, and Macmillan Over 6s, led by Venetia Gosling. Both Barton and Gosling will report to Belinda Rasmussen, with Gosling also working with Pan Macmillan publisher Jeremy Trevethan on crossover projects. 39-year-old Derek Jeter may be in the twilight of his baseball career, but his publishing career is just beginning. The longtime New York Yankee has entered into a co-publishing partnership with Simon & Schuster. Jeter Publishing intends to publish widely, across adult non-fiction, children’s picture books, middle grade fiction, and ready-to-read children’s books. A New Name for Random House Mondadori
Now that Penguin Random House owns all of the Spanish-language company founded and still operating as Random House Mondadori, they are taking the logical step of renaming the unit. It will be called Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial. Additionally, the group’s Literatura Mondadori imprint will change its name to Literatura Random House. Aside from the new names, there are no other changes at the division, which remains under the leadership of ceo Núria Cabutí.
