ICM Partners has expanded their partnership to encompass 11 more agents. They join the 27 partners who took control of the firm in 2012 after completing a buyout of previous controlling owner Rizvi Traverse Management. Bloomsbury will launch a new popular science imprint, Sigma, in October 2014 that will publish up to 15 titles per year globally and will be overseen by Jim Martin, previously an editor on the adult trade division’s natural science list. Rodale has brought in their highest-level outsider since ceo Steve Murphy was dismissed in 2009 and Maria Rodale took over as chairman and ceo. Longtime Dow Jones executive Scott Schulman will join Rodale on October 28 as president, reporting to Maria Rodale. She had announced in July that the company was searching for both a president and a chief operating officer. Schulman will be responsible for developing strategy and revenue growth. Chronicle Books food and drink editorial director Bill LeBlond will retire on November 7 after 33 years with the company. Company president Jack Jensen says, “Bill has made a pivotal contribution to the ongoing success of Chronicle Books.
