PRH UK Shuts Down Penguin Connect

Knopf Canada Launches Alchemy; Soft Skull Partners With Kimbilio

Knopf Canada has launched Alchemy, a new publishing program led by poet and novelist Dionne Brand. Brand will work with publishing director Lynn Henry and publisher Martha Kanya-Forstner to publish two-to-three fiction and nonfiction titles per year. Elsewhere, Soft Skull Press will partner with fiction writing community Kimbilio, “acquiring up to two books a year from Kimbilio fellows and faculty members” over the next three years, with the first title publishing in late 2023. Editor-in-chief Mensah Demary will select the manuscripts, which will receive a publishing contract and $10,000 prize. Kima Jones at Triangle House Literary represented the partnership.
